Optimize Your Recovery: Expert Tips for Training, Mobility and Circulation
When you train regularly or put load on your body in everyday life, tension builds up over time. How your body recovers affects both how it feels and how it responds the next time you use it. Recovery is not just about rest. It is about giving your body the right conditions to release tension, stimulate circulation and restore mobility. In a workshop led by physiotherapist Jenny Larsson, participants learned how cupping can be used as a tool to support exactly this. By working with the tissue and stimulating circulation, you can support your body’s recovery and create better conditions for both movement and performance over time. Jenny introduced three of Curam’s cups, the dynamic cup, the dynamic mini cup and the static cups, and how they can be used. Why Recovery and Circulation Matter When a muscle is used repeatedly, it can become tight and less mobile. This affects both how it feels and how efficiently it can generate force. If one area loses mobility, other parts of the body need to compensate. Over time, this can create a chain of tension that affects both movement and load distribution. For example, a stiff upper back can lead to increased strain on the lower back. A tight lat muscle can influence shoulder positioning. The lower legs may become fatigued when they constantly work to stabilize the body. When circulation increases and the tissue is allowed to move more freely, the body has better conditions to recover and function as intended. Common Areas Affected by Training and Load With repeated training or one-sided load, certain areas are more often affected: • Lower back • Upper back • Lat muscles • Lower legs and feet Cold environments, long periods of sitting and high training volume can also influence how the body feels. The tissue may feel stiffer and less responsive. By working with cupping, you can stimulate circulation in these areas and help the body release tension. Exercises to Improve Mobility and Support Recovery Lower back Place four static cups on the lower back and perform a seated forward fold with slow and controlled movement. You can also sit with one foot placed against the inner thigh and fold forward over the leg. Another option is to be on all fours and alternate between rounding and arching the spine. Upper back and chest Place a static cup on the front of the chest, slightly towards the shoulder. Bring your arms behind your back and open up the chest. You can also lie on your back and let your knees fall to one side in a gentle rotation. Lat muscle Place a cup along the side of the back, close to the armpit. Sit back into a position similar to child’s pose. You can stay still or move gently back and forth. Lower legs and feet Place static cups on the outer part of the lower legs and use the dynamic cup over the calf. You can also move into a downward facing dog and alternate pressure between your feet. The dynamic cup also works well along the front and outer thigh. Use oil when working dynamically for smoother glide. What Cupping Does in the Body Cupping stimulates circulation in the tissue. This helps oxygen and nutrients reach the area while supporting the removal of metabolic waste. As tension releases and the tissue becomes more mobile, muscles can work more efficiently. This affects how the body feels after load and how ready it is for the next session. It is not about forcing results, but about supporting the body with the right conditions over time. How to Get Started Getting started with cupping does not have to be complicated. The most important thing is to begin simply and notice how your body responds. All Curam cups come with Curam Start, an introduction that guides you in how to use the cups in a way that fits your everyday life. With static cupping, you can start with 3 to 5 minutes per area. With dynamic cupping, a few slow passes are often enough. If you want to work more structured with recovery, our Recovery Kit also includes an online course led by physiotherapist and sports medicine expert Ulrika Thoors, focusing on how to integrate cupping into your training over time. Make Recovery Part of Your Routine Recovery does not have to be complex. It can be something you do regularly, in small ways, where it fits into your day. Sometimes you work through several areas. Sometimes you focus on what feels most loaded at the moment. What matters is consistency. When you support your body over time, it becomes more ready to keep doing what you want it to do. Not just today, but tomorrow as well.

Learn moreBoost Your Lymphatic System and Improve Your Health
In our online workshop “Boost Your Lymphatic System” with lymphatic and fascia therapist Sara Ivarsson, she explained the function of the lymphatic system and its important relationship with the fascia. During the workshop, Sara teaches how you can enhance your lymphatic system using Curam’s cups and why maintaining good lymphatic flow is essential for well-being and energy. Sara Ivarsson is an experienced lymphatic and fascia therapist as well as a yoga instructor, running her own studio, Everflow. She explains how the fascia plays a crucial role in both movement and overall health. When circulation in the fascia is poor, stagnation can occur, which she compares to a "poorly maintained aquarium." This leads to impaired energy and fluid circulation, negatively impacting our well-being. The fascia and lymphatic system are closely interconnected and influence each other. When the fascia is not functioning optimally, it can restrict lymphatic flow, and if the lymphatic system is out of balance, it can create imbalances in the fascia. Sara explains that sometimes it is necessary to work on the fascia first to improve lymphatic circulation, or vice versa—focusing on improving the lymphatic system to restore balance in the fascia. Sara also covers where lymph nodes are located in the body and how we can promote better circulation in both systems through manual techniques and Curam’s cups. She demonstrates how to activate the lymph nodes before using the cups. For example, when working on the lymph nodes in the armpit, she suggests rubbing the area with the hand, followed by gentle tapping, and then applying pressure. After activating the body's "stations" with lymph nodes, such as the armpit, she uses sweeping motions towards the station—upward towards the armpit—with the dynamic cups. This workshop provides many practical tools to reduce swelling, fatigue, and discomfort caused by poor circulation in the lymphatic system and fascia. Did you miss this workshop? Learn moreFacial Cupping for Glow, Circulation and a Softer Expression
Your face does a lot for you every day. It expresses emotion, holds tension and responds to stress, sleep and how you feel. Often, it shows up in the skin first. Maybe your face feels puffy in the morning, tight around the jaw, tired around the eyes or simply less vibrant than usual. At Curam, we see facial cupping as a way to support the skin where it actually functions: in the tissue, in circulation and in the small habits that make a difference over time. It is not about changing your face, but about giving your skin better conditions to do its job. Why facial cupping? The face contains many small muscles and areas where tension easily builds up, especially around the jaw, forehead and eyes. When the face feels tense, it can also affect how the skin looks and feels. Your expression may look more tired, the skin less even and puffiness more noticeable. Facial cupping is a gentle method where you use a small cup together with Curam’s oil and work with calm, sweeping movements across the skin. This movement helps stimulate circulation in the tissue and can leave the face feeling softer, less tense and more alive. How facial cupping supports the skin When you work with the cup in slow movements, the skin receives pleasant stimulation. This can help to: increase circulation in the tissue reduce the feeling of puffiness release tension in the face, jaw and forehead support the skin’s natural glow and a more even tone create a fresher, softer expression It is not about forcing results. Quite the opposite. Facial cupping is built on consistency, gentle stimulation and a program that works in real life. When the skin gets the right conditions, it responds. A natural way to support skin function Many people turn to facial cupping because they want visible results, but in a natural way. They want to recognize themselves in the mirror, just with a little more energy in the face. More glow. Less tension. Less puffiness. That is why facial cupping fits so well into a regular routine. You are doing something active for your skin, without working against it. You are supporting the skin’s function, not fighting it. How to do it For facial cupping to feel comfortable and give an even result, it is important to always use Curam’s oil. The oil provides the right slip and reduces friction so the cup can glide smoothly across the skin. Apply a few drops of Curam’s oil and then work with light, sweeping movements. The cup should always stay in motion and never remain in one spot, since facial skin is delicate and you want to avoid marks. It does not need to take long. A few minutes in the morning can help wake up the skin. In the evening, the same program can become a way to release the day and soften tension that has settled in the face. When is facial cupping especially useful? Facial cupping can feel especially good: in the morning when the skin feels puffy or tired after days with a lot of stress or screen time when the jaw feels tight when you want to boost your glow as a calm part of your evening routine Results that build over time Some people feel that the face becomes softer and less tense after the very first time. Others mainly notice that the skin looks fresher after a few sessions. As with all skin health, it is often consistency that makes the biggest difference. At Curam, we believe in tools that help the body and skin function better where life happens. Facial cupping is one of those tools. A small moment of movement and stimulation that, over time, can bring both more glow and a softer expression. Not so you look different. But so you can feel more like yourself.

Learn moreWork from home with Curam and Yogobe
We know that it can be tough to work from home. Sitting still in the office for hours is not always optimal for either body or soul, but in the office we usually have the means to ease the stress of sitting glued to the screen. An ergonomic chair with good support for the back and legs, or perhaps an adjustable table so that you can change your working position. Whatever it is, it is not as easy for most of us to arrange this at home. You may not have room for a large ergonomic table or the opportunity to buy the perfect chair that will ease the tension in the body. As it is not always easy to know how to help your body in the best way, we have made a small guide on tips so that you can more easily take care of yourself when you work from home. Self-care at work and at home simply! Yoga for a tense neck and shoulders Problems with the neck, shoulders and back are usually among the most common problems that are aggravated by sitting locked in non-ergonomic positions. There are lots of different tricks to relieve pressure and tension and here we recommend some simple techniques. The Nordic region's leading digital yoga and health destination Yogobe has developed several different classes, both simple and more advanced, short and long, so that you can find something that suits you today. Yogobe always offers new members a 14-day free try-out, so take the opportunity to try it out today. Here we suggest a shorter class of only 10 minutes that will help you release tension in the neck, shoulders and chest. To the class -> You can also try Curam's cupping program "Office break" to release the work-at-home tensions. Then you use massage cups as a means to release tensions and help the blood circulation to start, to get stagnant energy to move again and give nutrition to the body's system. Do it while working or sitting on the couch in front of a series. To run the program you need 2 static cups. Make your home office more ergonomical We suggest that you set aside some time each day for some exercises that will help your body relax and heal. We hope you find this time, but some days it may not be enough, so what do you do then? Well, there are ways to make your home office more ergonomic without having to invest in a new chair or table for several thousand kronor. Try using a meditation pillow to give extra support to your back and stomach, or why not try a meditation stool and get a little lower in your sitting position. Place the pillow on your chair so that the legs are at the same height or a little higher than the hip. When the legs are raised, you activate more of the abdominal muscles, which in turn stabilizes the back and posture. When the body has begun to get used to it, the tension is gradually released in the back and shoulders. If you instead feel like trying a meditation stool, place the computer on a lower table closer to the floor while you sit and work from the meditation stool. The stool itself motivates the body to use the abdominal muscles to keep the back straight, so there will be both better posture and training in one. At the Yogobe Store you will find both a meditation pillow and a meditation stool from Yogiraj. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0943/4136/6093/files/meditationskudde-meditation-cushion-crescent-yogiraj-1.jpeghttps://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0943/4136/6093/files/meditationspall-meditation-stool-yogiraj-1.jpeg The journey inwards - Meditation At least as important as your physical body feeling, it is important to take a look inside. When the physical body is not feeling well, it often screams a little louder than what the mind and soul might do, which makes it a little more natural to prioritize it instead of the inside. One way to start looking inward and discovering what it really is like is to start meditating. Many people may find it difficult to get started with just this, how do you really do it? At Yogobe you can find lots of guided meditations that can help you get started. Feel free to try several different types of variation because it is as with everything else - the taste is like the butt, so try it out, be a little curious and try to be patient to find the shape that suits you best. Here we suggest a meditation with Veronica Jäderlund that suits you as a beginner who wants to get started with meditation. Click here to start your journey with Yogobes meditation class. Shake off all tension There are few things that work as well against stress as having a little fun. The Kundalini-shaking meditation is made to release stress and tension. Here you need nothing more than an open attitude and mind - the meditation is easy to perform and incredibly wonderful for both body and soul. It is a so-called active meditation that is a real boon to let go and exhale the bad. Feel free to try this shaking meditation with Josefine Bengtsson. And here you'll find out how to start shaking! Now we hope you have found something that has made your body and soul relax a bit. See you and take care of you!
Learn moreSpring - the season of detox
Kolla gärna in vårt koppningsprogram “Skin for the win” (Anti cellulite) för en fantastisk lymfdräneringssession! Take care och njut!
Learn moreTry something new on Valentine's Day!
Valentine’s day is fast approaching and the recurring thought of what to do this special day is right now gnawing at many. Red roses and chocolate feels vapid and a luxurious restaurant visit, not right in time. But care beyond the ordinary to your loved one, so right! Here comes “Love bomb” a ritual to perform on someone you care about, perhaps a partner, a friend or modify the session and perform it on yourself. Let the session be an opportunity to give, be aware, connect with each other or yourself and give honor to the body. What you'll need: To perform the ritual you need the dynamic cup, the static cups and Curam Body & Massage oil or other similar oil. Start with the static cups: Ask your partner to sit in a comfortable position without a top on. Attach the Static cups under the collarbones and let them help him/her to deepen breath. Let the cups sit for 1-3 min. Meanwhile, massage your partner’s head and don’t forget to give attention to the temples. Remove the cups and gently massage the oil into the skin on the neck, shoulders and back. Attach Static cups on each side of the neck, on the upper part of the shoulders. Let the cups sit for 1-3 min. Then the dynamic cup: In the meantime, place the Dynamic cup on the lower part on the side of the spine. Slowly move the cup up and down along the back. You can also use zig-zag and circular movements. Hopefully by now, you will notice how your partner is starting to relax. Replace the Static cups further out on the shoulders, let the cups sit for 1-3 min, and do the other side of the back with the Dynamic cup. Place the Dynamic cup directly on the sacrum, attach the static cups on the outer side of each arm. Rub some more massage oil into your palms and gently massage your partner’s hands. Couples meditation with an eye-gazing exercise: Whether you let that be the end of your valentine's session or if you are keen for some more presence and deeper connection with your partner, we suggest you do an eye gazing exercise. Here’s one method you can use. Sit in a comfortable position and face your partner. Set a timer for your desired amount of time. Look into your partner’s eyes. Breathe deeply and allow yourself to blink. Keep your gaze soft and try not to look away. Break your gaze when the timer goes off. Hope you and your chosen one enjoyed the session and found charm in trying something; perhaps; completely new. Do not forget that every day is for love and care. Take care of yourself and your surroundings! With Love, Curam. <3
Learn more5 benefits from cupping
Open up your breath By attaching Curam static cups below the collarbones and letting them sit there for a few minutes, can help you calm down and deepen your breath. A simple and effective way to slow down and land into your body if you feel stressed. You can also try attaching the cups to the lower part of the rib cage, either towards the sides, on the front or on the back. Use the cups as a focus point for your attention and your breath. Breathe into the cups and feel how you expand your breath and how you can more easily connect with your breath with the help of the cups. Relaxation If you're looking for a low effort relaxation technique, cupping is a great way to go. In addition to calming your breath, cupping has a relaxing effect on tense and sore muscles as well as a calming effect on the nervous system. Try attaching the static cups under the soles of the feet to ground yourself and for a nice relaxation before bedtime. Warm-up and Recovery after workout Cupping is an excellent way to prepare the body for movement and warm up muscles, joints and increase mobility. The cups attract fluids, stimulate blood & lymph circulation and help to loosen and separate the connective tissue. This increases the flow in the body and helps the body to more easily transport nutrients and oxygen, to get rid of more waste products such as lactic acid and helps the body's ability to better heal itself. When we soften the fascia (connective tissue) and increase circulation, we reduce stagnation, which can help you reduce tension and swelling, increase muscle relaxation and lead to increased flexibility and mobility. By cupping after a workout, you will help the body recover faster, soften tense and numb muscles and reduce exercise soreness. We recommend you to combine Curam's static cups with the dynamic cup for maximum effect and to be able to treat several places at the same time. Strengthen the immune system In order for the lymphatic system to function optimally and efficiently be able to take care of viruses, bacteria and waste products, we must move, drink plenty of water and eat a good diet. But even if we do this, it may still be too little to keep the lymph flow running optimally. Cupping, especially dynamic cupping when you let the cups slide over the skin, stimulates the lymph circulation and involves an effective cleansing of waste products. Which in turn can contribute to a stronger immune system. For lymphatic drainage, move the dynamic cup in the direction of the major lymph stations, for example knee folds, groin and armpit to help carry away waste products. Anti-Cellulite The main cause of cellulite is thickened connective tissue along with poor blood circulation. If the circulation in the connective tissue is poor, this can lead to waste products accumulating in the tissue and ultimately lead to so-called cellulite skin. Cupping is a deep massage for skin and connective tissue that stimulates blood & lymph circulation and can therefore be an effective treatment for improved skin structure and cleansing of the skin. The production of elastin and collagen is beneficially affected, which can contribute to smoother and firmer skin and reduce the appearance of cellulite. This was our quick guide to 5 benefits from cupping. If you're interested in learning more about cupping and different ways to use your cups, check out our cupping programs.
